Description

18 holes -6,784 yards - SSS 73

Situated on Ulster's magnificent Causeway Coast, Portstewart Strand Course is a difficult but fair open links course offering magnificent views of the Donegal Hills, the rolling Atlantic Ocean, Strand Beach and the River Bann, especially from the 1st and 5th tees. The opening of seven new holes in the huge sand dunes behind the first green has created a course of true championship standard. Of the many superb holes on the championship links of Portstewart, it is possible that the par four 1st and par three 6th will linger longest in the memory. Playing alongside two miles of golden beach, with the Atlantic Ocean lapping the shore and Donegal Hills looming in the distance the first hole is an exquisite 425 yard dog-leg right. The par three 6th, though measuring only 140 yards is a superb hole, which depending on wind requires a shot ranging from a three iron to a wedge, played to a plateau green.
